Technique Goals Achieved: Featuring Ryan!
Published: Jan 4, 2015 | Category: Uncategorized
As part of our "Under the 'C' Discoveries" practice incentive, students have focused on specific technique goals. For most students, their first challenge was establishing a habit of sitting at the proper distance, height, and posture at the piano. To achieve that goal, they must demonstrate that their proper placement has become a habit by placing themselves correctly at the piano for 5 weeks at the beginning of their lesson. I am happy to report that many have achieved that goal! There has been a delay in getting pictures posted due to technical difficulties (photo storage issues). Rather than post every one at once, I will post daily blogs highlighting one student a day, with a picture to show their progress.

Ryan was the first student to master his position. You can see how nice his posture is. His bench height allows him to have a nice horizontal line from his elbows to his wrists, and his fingers are relaxed, natural, and curved. His feet are firmly planted under his knees. Great job, Ryan!
